Nature Revival: The Pursuit of a Greener World - Günther expresses satisfaction over the ongoing repair bonus.

"The repair bonus is a win-win for the environment and the economy." As stated by Gunther, skilled craftsmen and repair businesses in Saxony have experienced an increase in demand worth over 2 million euros since the inception of the repair bonus scheme. On top of that, the repair bonus has helped in stopping more than 45 metric tons of electronic waste from being produced in Saxony.

To further promote repairs, starting from November 2023, the Free State has been supporting repairs that cost between €75 and €400. The scheme covers half of the expenses involved in the repair. Up to two repairs per year per person can be funded under this program. Notably, companies that adhere to certain criteria can become part of the list of recognized repairers. This year, the Free State has set aside a sum of 1.25 million euros for this initiative.

The continuation of this environmentally friendly initiative in Saxony is welcomed by consumers. Wolfram Günther, the Minister for the Environment, Agriculture and Climate Protection in Dresden, aims to encourage more repairs to reduce electronic waste and promote sustainability. The success of the repair bonus scheme has led to a significant 2 million euro increase in demand for repairs, preventing 45 metric tons of electronic waste from being produced. However, the initiative is not limited to Saxony as similar repair bonus schemes might be implemented in other regions to combat climate change.
