Three individuals are required to show up at the Hanau Regional Court (9:00 AM) to address accusations of attempting homicide with intent and causing severe physical harm. The prosecution claims that this group, ranging in age from 22 to 31, instigated an assault against a 47-year-old in his Hanau residence.

According to reports, the group went equipped with a collapsible baton and a handgun, and approached the third-story apartment, knocking on the door. Upon seeing the trio through a narrow opening and hearing deadly threats, the 47-year-old promptly shut the door. The trio then made an attempt to break through it. The main defendant, aged 31, is alleged to have discharged ten rounds point-blank at the lock, the door, and the victim behind it.

Potential motive: Vengeance

It is claimed that one bullet penetrated the door and eventually embedded itself in the kitchen floor. Remarkably, the 47-year-old sustained no injuries. The prosecution views vengeance as a potential motive, with family feuds serving as the underlying cause. The jury chamber has set aside five trial days up until the end of September. The preliminary trial commencement, initially scheduled for late August, was pushed back due to an illness affecting an individual involved in the proceedings.
