Transfers - Guirassy rumors leave Hoeneß cold before VfB finish

Coach Sebastian Hoeneß says he is unperturbed by speculation that goalscorer Serhou Guirassy could play his last game for VfB Stuttgart on Wednesday (20:30/Sky). It's a never-ending topic, said the coach of the Swabian Bundesliga club on Tuesday when asked about the transfer rumors surrounding the 27-year-old. However, he assured: "It doesn't bother me."

Basically, "it's clear that I would like to continue working with Serhou for another five years," said Hoeneß. Of course, he also knows the business. However, when asked about signs of the striker's departure, he said that there were none. "Not to mislead you," Hoeneß explained to journalists at the press conference. "But because that's what I experience." The rest will show in the future.

Guirassy has already scored 18 competitive goals for VfB this season. His contract with Stuttgart, who host FC Augsburg in their last game before the Christmas break, runs until June 30, 2026, but a release clause should allow Guirassy to leave the club this winter. Transfer rumors have been swirling around the attacker, who will take part in the Africa Cup with Guinea in the Ivory Coast in January, for weeks.
