Bundesliga - Guirassy and Undav together from the start for the first time
VfB Stuttgart will play for the first time against Werder Bremen with the front two of Serhou Guirassy and Deniz Undav from the start. VfB coach Sebastian Hoeneß revealed this surprisingly openly on Thursday. "We don't need to make a secret of it," said the coach of the Swabian Bundesliga club ahead of the game on Saturday (18:30/Sky): "I'm looking forward to the double-header."
The two strikers Guirassy (15 goals) and Undav (7) have guaranteed a surprisingly strong season so far for the club that was almost relegated last season. Nevertheless, the two have not yet featured together in the starting eleven in the Bundesliga.
Hoeneß was positive that goalkeeper Alexander Nübel, who has been suffering from a cold this week, and midfielder Angelo Stiller will be ready for action on Saturday following muscular problems. Both trained again for the first time two days before the game. "Let's see how they react and how the final training session goes," said Hoeneß.
Lilian Egloff is no longer an option before the winter break. The midfielder suffered a partial tear to the collateral ligament in his knee during the second team match and is expected to be out for around six weeks. Roberto Massimo has muscular problems.
