Guest appearance in Rostock: Hertha with a chance of sixth place

After reaching the last 16 of the DFB Cup, Hertha BSC are looking to move into the top flight of the second division. Four days after their 3-0 win over Bundesliga side Mainz 05, Hertha coach Pal Dardai's team can make a big leap from eleventh to sixth place with a win at Hansa Rostock on Sunday (1.30pm/Sky).

After the success in the cup and the 3:1 win against Paderborn the previous week, the team is coming together better and better and has made up for the disastrous start to the season with three defeats without scoring a goal. However, they will have to replace central defenders Toni Leistner and Marc Oliver Kempf in the Hanseatic city as they serve their suspensions. Marton Dardai and Pascal Klemens are alternatives, as is Linus Gechter. In attack, Dardai will rely on top scorer Haris Tabakovic, who leads the scoring charts with nine goals, and Fabian Reese.

The statistics also speak in favor of the Berliners. In 26 competitive matches to date, there have been twelve wins, seven draws and seven defeats. In their last competitive match, first division side Hertha won 2:0 in the first round of the DFB Cup in August 2017 at third division side Hansa Rostock - with Pal Dardai on the touchline.

Hertha BSC, aiming for a sixth-place finish in Bundesliga 2, will encounter FC Hansa Rostock in their upcoming match. Despite missing central defenders Toni Leistner and Marc Oliver Kempf due to suspensions, Hertha's top scorer Haris Tabakovic with nine goals and Fabian Reese in attack could provide the team with an edge in this Bundesliga 2 clash.

The last time a first division side like Hertha BSC faced FC Hansa Rostock in a competitive match was in the DFB Cup first round in August 2017, when Hertha emerged victorious with a 2-0 scoreline, with current coach Pal Dardai on the touchline.
