Greifswald is commemorating its renowned figure, Caspar David Friedrich, with a two-day city celebration on August 31st and September 1st. Some of the scheduled activities include a historical marketplace of crafts and stage performances. The annual "Zirkulum" street theater festival is also paying homage to Friedrich this year, with the theme "Street Art during Friedrich's Era". Last year's debut of "Zirkulum" was a major hit.
