Social Gathering - Green Party Manager: Countering the Influence of Right-Wing Extremists

Büning remembered incidents involving activists and their detractors. "During this election campaign, we witnessed actions emerging from words unlike never before." She pledged: "We won't give in, but we will safeguard our democracy and the future of Germany and Europe against those who wish to undermine our liberty through malice, provocation, and brutality."

Büning highlighted that the current EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has demonstrated a penchant for collaborating with the far-right party of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. The reasoning behind this is speculated to be that she might rely on support from Meloni's party for her re-election in the European Parliament. Von der Leyen serves as the frontrunner of the European People's Party (EPP), which includes CDU and CSU as well. "Nationalists and post-fascists should not be part of our coalition," asserted Büning.
