The esteemed craftsman and designer of the Goslarer Kaiserring, Hadfried Rinke, has bid farewell. At age 91, he passed away on Sunday in the artist haven of Worpswede, his sons announced on Tuesday. Moritz Rinke, his son, described his work, "His pieces weren't just jewellery, but wearable art. His preference was for clean, refined styles."
The outstanding goldsmith was recognized with multiple awards, including the Federal Cross of Merit. For over six decades, Worpswede has been his home. He had three marriages and six children. In his leisure time, he cared for horses, practiced whitewater rafting, and also pilot hot air balloons.
