DP World Tour - Golfer de Bruyn plays his way to the top in Munich

Golfer Jannik De Bruin advances as the best German to the final day of the tournament in Munich. The day after the emotional farewell of legend Bernhard Langer, the 24-year-old climbed to a tied 21st place with a 69 (par) round on the Par-72 course. Jeremy Paul also played a three-under-par round and is tied for 28th place.

The Englishman Jordan Smith took the lead with a 66 (two under par) round. He is tied with the further leading Scot Ewen Ferguson, who goes into the last day with both being 14 under par. Due to an announced thunderstorm, play was finished earlier than originally planned on Saturday. The tournament victory will be rewarded with $425,000 (approximately €390,000). The total prize money amounts to $2.5 million.

For the 66-year-old Langer, his last tournament was already prematurely ended earlier. The golfer, who was accompanied by much applause throughout his round, missed the cut at the BMW International Open - there was still plenty of applause after his last putt.
