- Goalkeeper Timo Horn is backing up VfL Bochum
Goalkeeper Timo Horn is returning to the Bundesliga. After his contract with Austrian serial champions FC Red Bull Salzburg was not renewed, the 31-year-old is joining VfL Bochum. Horn has signed a contract with the Ruhr club until June 30, 2026. The native Cologne player had spent a total of 21 years with 1. FC Köln and has so far played 201 games in the Bundesliga.
"With Timo Horn, we are strengthening our goalkeeper team with high-quality," said VfL sporting director Marc Lettau. "He knows the Bundesliga, is a true team player, and will be very valuable to us with his experience."
Horn will wear the number one jersey for Bochum. "The intensity with which the fans and the city identify with the VfL appeals to me. I will give my all in training and want to contribute to achieving the sporting goals," said the goalkeeper during the VfL training camp in South Tyrol.
VfL Bochum has secured the services of experienced goalkeeper Timo Horn, who will be joining the club after his contract with FC Red Bull Salzburg was not renewed. In fact, Horn has signed a long-term deal with VfL Bochum, set to expire on June 30, 2026.
