Third Division - Goalkeeper Benjamin Uphoff joins Hansa Rostock.
Hansa Rostock, a team that was relegated from the second league, has secured their first acquisition for the upcoming 2024/25 season. The club announced on Saturday that Benjamin Uphoff will be joining them from SC Freiburg. Uphoff, aged 30, is replacing Markus Kolke, who is now playing for Bundesliga team Werder Bremen.
Previously, Uphoff occupied the third-choice goalkeeper position at Freiburg and mainly played for their second team. Despite his efforts, he couldn't help his team from getting relegated to the 3. Liga. The goalkeeper made a total of five appearances in professional games for SC Freiburg.
Amir Shapourzadeh, the director of professional football at Hansa, expressed his excitement about their new signing, stating, "We're thrilled to have gained Benjamin as a new goalkeeper. He brings with him the necessary experience and perfectly fits our team during the rebuilding process."
