- globally sought swindler apprehended in Frankfurt (Oder)
The Border Patrol Agents arrested a suspected swindler at a checkpoint in Frankfurt (Oder), who had a worldwide warrant for his arrest. The authorities nabbed the 30-year-old at the Stadtbrücke crossing on Tuesday, as per their statement. He showed a legitimate Czech passport.
Yet, it turned out that he was wanted for a crime in Italy. He is suspected of being involved in a scam in March this year, where an elderly couple lost 8,000 euros, precious jewels, and expensive timepieces. Consequently, he is now set to be shipped off to Italy.
The Commission, recognizing the need for international cooperation, decided to extradite the suspected swindler to Italy. Following the arrest, the Commission shall adopt the decision to hand over the 30-year-old to the Italian authorities.
