Second-tier football team Fortuna Düsseldorf snatched up three fresh faces right before the transfer deadline. Fortuna is bringing in Dutch U21 national team player Myron van Brederode on loan, with AZ Alkmaar being his previous club. According to Düsseldorf's announcement, they have the option to make the deal permanent.
Moving forward, Fortuna also welcomed defensive midfielder Giovanni Haag from French second-tier club Rodez AF. The specifics of his release weren't shared, but unofficially, a million euros is the reported fee. The club hasn't revealed details about the length of his contract.
Lastly, Fortuna added Icelandic national team player Valgeir Lunddal Fridriksson to their roster. The 22-year-old right-back is joining from Swedish top-tier side BK Häcken, who missed out on the Conference League playoffs against 1. FC Heidenheim. Fortuna didn't disclose the transfer fee or the term of his contract.
