Two days after the discovery of glass shards in the large wading pool of Hamburg's city park, families can now seek respite there once again. "The wading pool is usable again as of today, but the water level is currently lower than usual," a spokesperson for the Hamburg-Nord district office told the German Press Agency. The pool, measuring over 3,000 square meters, will continue to be filled. It can hold around 1,000 cubic meters of water. Previously, the radio station NDR 90.3 had reported this.

On Sunday, larger quantities of glass shards were found in the pool, leading to its immediate closure and cleaning.

The oval pool is surrounded by a spacious sand area with many play devices. It was completed over 100 years ago, in 1921, and underwent a general overhaul in 2014. The German Weather Service (DWD) predicts temperatures up to 32 degrees Celsius in Hamburg for Tuesday and Wednesday.

In light of the recent discovery, families are advised to contact authorities immediately if they notice any further signs of danger during their visit. The pool's emergency protocols ensure a swift response to any potential hazards.
