- Gladbach test against Ipswich Town cancelled

The friendly match scheduled for this afternoon (2:30 PM) between Bundesliga side Borussia Mönchengladbach and English Premier League newcomers Ipswich Town in Heimstetten, Munich, has been cancelled at short notice. The English club cited personnel issues as the reason, according to a statement from their camp. Instead, Mönchengladbach's U21 team will now face the Foals.

Mönchengladbach had hoped to conclude their training camp in Rottach-Egern with a high-level test match and expressed their frustration following the last-minute cancellation. "Ipswich Town's failure to honor their contractual commitments due to personnel issues is very disappointing and angering," said Mönchengladbach's sporting director, Roland Virkus, on X (formerly Twitter). Virkus and his team were unable to arrange an alternative opponent at short notice, leaving them with no choice but to make the best of the situation. Ipswich Town had only contacted Mönchengladbach on the late evening of Thursday.

Mönchengladbach's scheduled Test match against Ipswich Town was a significant part of their training camp, intended to provide a challenging opposition before their return to league play. Due to the cancellation, the team will now focus on honing their skills against their U21 team in the upcoming fixture.
