Bundesliga - Gladbach hope for the return of Weigl, Wöber and Cvancara

For Borussia Mönchengladbach 's latest absentees, the time until the DFB Cup round of 16 against VfL Wolfsburg on Tuesday (8.45pm) will be a race against time. "One or two decisions won't be made until tomorrow," said coach Gerardo Seoane on Monday. "It's a challenge for us as a staff, so patience is required."

Seoane had to do without ten injured or ill players for Saturday's 2-1 win over TSG Hoffenheim. Julian Weigl (pulled muscle), Max Wöber (infection) and Tomas Cvancara (muscular problems) were also absent at short notice. "There's a bit of hope that they'll all be able to play," said Seoane vaguely about their chances of playing on Tuesday.

There has only been one cup duel with Wolfsburg, who defeated Borussia 4-0 in the league just over three weeks ago: the final they won in 1995. When asked about the supposedly good prospects this season due to the fact that several favorites have already fallen, Seoane remained cautious. "Of course everyone has dreams. But it's no use dreaming, you have to concentrate on the task in hand," said the Borussia coach.
