Gladbach fear for Wöber ahead of Wolfsburg game
Borussia Mönchengladbach are worried about Maximilian Wöber ahead of their home game against VfL Wolfsburg. The 25-year-old defensive player is complaining of muscular problems and is in danger of being ruled out for this Friday's match (20:30/DAZN). "We'll test him again on Friday morning and then we'll see if he's available," said Gladbach coach Gerardo Seoane on Thursday.
Wöber's absence would be bitter because Gladbach are already missing two defenders in Ko Itakura and Tony Jantschke. Jantschke should at least be available again after the international break.
In attack, Seoane will have to replace Jordan, who has been so prolific of late and is also out injured. One candidate for the striker position is the Czech Tomas Cvancara. "I've seen Tomas in a good rhythm for three weeks now. He had to deal with injuries time and again before, but now he's raring to go," said the Borussia coach about the striker, who has already scored three times this Bundesliga season.
Wöber's potential absence in the Bundesliga game against Wolfsburg could leave Borussia Mönchengladbach short-handed in their defensive line, as they are already missing Ko Itakura and Tony Jantschke. If Wöber is ruled out, Borussia Mönchengladbach might have to rely on their Czech striker, Tomas Cvancara, who has shown good form recently and is eager to contribute in attack.
