Soccer - "Giving the last shirt": Saarbrücken plans cup coup

Bayern conquerors 1. FC Saarbrücken are planning their next coup in the cup round of 16 against Eintracht Frankfurt. "We know we're underdogs, but we've played four times to nil recently. And we want to keep a clean sheet tomorrow. We will give it our all and try to create another sensation," said goalkeeper Tim Schreiber ahead of the clash with the Bundesliga club on Wednesday (18:00/Sky).

Rüdiger Ziehl can almost draw on a full complement of players. "With the exception of Sebastian Jacob and Patrick Schmidt, all players are available to us," the coach of the third-division club announced on Tuesday. "We are in a good position and can prepare for various scenarios."

Despite the sensational 2:1 victory against the German record champions from Munich in the second round, Ziehl sees his team in the clear underdog role. "It's a similar starting position to before the Bayern game. If Frankfurt reach their maximum, they will win this game," predicted the 46-year-old. However, his team will not surrender without a fight. "It's up to us to take away some of their desire and prevent them from pushing themselves to the limit," announced Ziehl.
