Public prosecutor's office - Girl raped in children's home: Trial begins in February

In the case of the abused and killed girl in a children's home in Wunsiedl, the trial against a 25-year-old will begin on February 2, 2024 at the Hof district court. As a spokesperson announced on Thursday, the court has admitted the charges of rape and sexual abuse, among other things, and set dates until the beginning of March 2024.

According to the public prosecutor's office, the 25-year-old allegedly broke into the children's home in Wunsiedel, Upper Franconia, on the night of April 4 this year and raped the ten-year-old girl. The case caused horror far beyond the region.

An eleven-year-old boy, who is said to be responsible for the girl's death, will not be prosecuted due to his age. The boy is said to have killed the girl during an argument on the same night. He has been called as a witness in the trial.
