National squad - Germany's national soccer team holds its initial training session for the European Championship in front of a crowd of 15,000 spectators in Jena.

Sixteen days before Germany's European Championship opener versus Scotland, the national team begins their preparations on Monday (6:30 pm) with a public training session in Jena. Over 15,000 complimentary tickets for witnessing DFB team members, including Bayern youth player Jamal Musiala, compete at the regional league club FC Carl Zeiss were promptly claimed. Nonetheless, goalkeeper Manuel Neuer will be absent during this campaign; he's currently sidelined due to a stomach-intestinal illness.

Julian Nagelsmann, Germany's coach, emphasized their goal: "We aim to further develop in this stage of preparation." The DFB team is stationed and trained in Blankenhain, where they will transfer to the EURO4 stadium in Franconia on Friday. The lineup isn't finalized initially; players from Borussia Dortmund (Niclas Füllkrug and Nico Schlotterbeck), Real Madrid (Toni Kroos and Antonio Rüdiger), plus more, are missing because they're participating in the Champions League finale against Liverpool on Saturday. These players will join the DFB squad afterwards.

Prior to the critical event in Munich on June 14th against Scotland, two exhibition matches are scheduled: on June 3rd in Nuremberg against Ukraine and on June 7th in Mönchengladbach against Greece. Other teammates to challenge Germany include Hungary and Switzerland. Nagelsmann has a packed timetable until the World Cup final on July 14th. He's determined to "engage fans" and "take home the trophy" with the national team.
