Germany's exports fell again in June

In June, the value of exports reached 127.7 billion euros. German companies shipped goods worth 69.7 billion euros to EU member states, a decrease of 3.4% from May. Goods worth 57.9 billion euros were sent to non-EU countries, a decrease of 3.5% from May.

The majority of exports, as in previous months, went to the USA, valued at 12.9 billion euros, a decrease of 7.7% from May. Meanwhile, exports to China increased by 3.4%, reaching 7.9 billion euros.

The majority of imports in June also came from China, but the value of imported goods decreased by 4.9% compared to May, to 12.3 billion euros. Overall, the value of all imports to Germany was 107.3 billion euros, a decrease of 6.4% compared to June 2023.

Following the decrease in exports to EU and non-EU countries, there was a shift in focus for some German companies, leading to an increase in [exports] to China. Despite the majority of imports coming from China, the value of imported goods saw a decrease, affecting the total [exports] to Germany.
