Germany takes in sick children from devastated Kiev Children's Clinic
The Rocket attack on the children's clinic once again showed the incomprehensible cruelty with which Putin conducts his war against Ukraine, stated German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser (SPD) in reference to Russian President Vladimir Putin. "That's why we are continuing our humanitarian support for Ukraine with all our might."
German Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (SPD) emphasized: "The affected seriously ill Children should not become victims of this criminal war again." The aid should give Ukraine hope: "We will not leave Ukraine behind."
Russia attacked Ukraine last week with massive attacks and also hit the children's hospital in Kiev. Immediately after the shelling of the clinic, the Ukrainian Security Service SBU reported that relevant evidence, including fragments of a Ch-101 Rocket's rear part and a serial number, had been found on site.
Moscow denied responsibility and stated that the hospital had been hit by debris from Ukrainian air defense rockets. Germany, according to media reports, has already provided ten million euros for the reconstruction of the hospital.
Since the beginning of the Russian war of aggression in February 2022, severely injured and seriously ill people from Ukraine have been evacuated and treated in Germany and other EU countries. According to the statements, since then, almost 1150 people have been brought to Germany and treated in hospitals.
