German Weather Service warns of severe thunderstorms and heavy rain
According to DWD, there is a possibility of occasional extreme weather with heavier rain showers not being excluded. In the night to Monday, particularly in the south of the Swabian Alb and initially in the north, there is a likelihood of partly strong thunderstorms. These, however, are expected to weaken in the second half of the night. On Monday, according to the weather service, there may be partly notable thunderstorms in the south-east and occasionally in the east. However, no more rain is to be expected.
The Weather Service predicts potential extreme weather conditions across Germany, with particular focus on southern regions. In Bavaria, there's a possibility of thunderstorms, some of which could be strong. Thuringia and Schleswig-Holstein might also experience some thunder. The north, including Lower Saxony, might face sharp rain showers during this weather event. On Sunday, the German city of Hamburg could potentially be hit by thunderstorms as well. According to DWD, the temperature might fluctuate due to these weather changes. In contrast, on Monday, after the initial thunderstorms, the Weather Service expects no more rain in several parts of Germany.
