Traffic - German Weather Service warns of icy conditions

In many places in Baden-Württemberg, people will also have to prepare for icy conditions on Sunday. The German Weather Service announced on Saturday that the snow from Saturday, together with freezing drizzle or freezing rain, could lead to more slippery conditions on Sunday morning. It will only snow occasionally and the sun will also make an appearance.

Especially in the Black Forest, on the Alb and south of it, frost is also possible over the next two nights with temperatures as low as minus 10 degrees and in some places even as low as minus 20 degrees. "You simply have to expect icy conditions when you're out and about," said a spokesperson on Saturday. On Monday, precipitation and warmer air from the west are expected from later in the morning, so there is a high risk of freezing rain and thus slippery conditions.

Despite the sun making an appearance on Sunday in Stuttgart, the German Weather Service DWD warns of potential icy conditions due to overnight frost. Residents in Baden-Württemberg, including Stuttgart, should be prepared for slippery surfaces, especially on the Alb and south of it where temperatures could drop as low as minus 20 degrees. Drivers should expect smooth roads to turn icy when precipitation and warmer air from the west arrive on Monday.
