German Net's Top E-Commerce Sites
Wide-ranging options, availability around the clock for orders, and home delivery are just three reasons that make online shopping appealing. The comprehensive consumer survey by the German Institute for Service Quality (DISQ) and ntv revealed the top providers. A whopping 77,000 customer opinions determined the best companies in 98 categories, who were given the title "Germany's Best Online Shops 2024".
Detailed Consumer Assessment
The consumer survey, carried out online and representative of the population, assessed customer satisfaction with online shops in various aspects, such as price-to-performance ratio, range, customer service, web presence/app, ordering and payment conditions, as well as shipping and returns.
Countless individual factors were considered, such as product quality and range assortment, consulting competence through phone, email, and chat, payment options, and delivery possibilities, shipping costs, and speed, and return handling.
Furthermore, the customers' willingness to recommend was factored into the overall score. A total of 944 companies were evaluated, with 867 online shops making it into the individual evaluation with at least 80 votes each.
"Customer satisfaction with online shops is notably high in the areas of ordering and payment conditions, as well as web presence or app," says Markus Hamer, Managing Director of the German Institute for Service Quality. "Customers tend to be somewhat critical about the price-performance ratio, with nearly every fourth respondent expressing dissatisfaction. However, e-commerce providers overall achieve good to excellent results."
Top Providers Honored
This year's winners encompass both online retail giants and specialists, such as Amazon, Baslerbeauty, Flaconi.de, Hellweg.de, Höffner, Reifen.com, Samsung, Tchibo.de, and Zalando.
