Gang war in the Stuttgart area: further suspects arrested
As there was possibly a connection to a shooting in Schorndorf, the LKA took over the investigation. DNA traces then led to the men. Further weapons and almost 600 grams of cocaine were found during searches. The men are now in custody.
In contrast, a 32-year-old man whose home was also searched is at large. He is said to have been involved in the attack on the thrower of a hand grenade at a mourning congregation in Altbach in June. However, there is no urgent suspicion.
During the attack, 15 mourners were injured, some of them seriously. The trial against the suspect begins on Thursday at Stuttgart District Court. After the suspected hand grenade throw, he was attacked by several people; five people suspected of being involved will stand trial from next week.
Investigators are now also looking into whether the fire at a restaurant in Nürtingen last Saturday is connected to the gang war. According to the authorities, the gang war has been going on for more than a year. The opposing groups are allegedly involved in criminal activities.
There have already been numerous violent incidents, including multiple shootings at or in front of pubs. "Anyone who takes part in such acts will be brought to justice resolutely and persistently using all constitutional means", explained Baden-Württemberg's Interior Minister Thomas Strobl (CDU) on Wednesday.
