A gang is suspected to be responsible for the theft of eight high-end Porsche vehicles across the entire federal territory - three alleged members of the group are currently in custody. The men were reportedly apprehended in Wiesbaden on a fresh crime scene on a Wednesday and were arrested by a mobile police squad from the Hesse Police, according to the Düsseldorf Prosecutor's Office and Police. The recently stolen 130,000 Euro sports car was secured undamaged. A warrant for their arrest was issued for the suspects aged 29, 34, and 36 on Thursday in Düsseldorf, and they were taken into U-Haft.

The Düsseldorf Prosecutor's Office is investigating for the suspicion of a serious gang theft, as there was a case in April in the NRW state capital. Traces pointed to a Polish criminal group, it was said. This gang is believed to have specialized in the theft of high-value vehicles and used a flat in the Rhineland as a base for reconnaissance trips. A police spokesperson stated that it was still unclear how many people in total belong to the criminal group. The investigations are ongoing.

The gang is believed to have committed a total of eight car thefts in Düsseldorf, Cologne, Mülheim an der Ruhr, Warendorf, Bielefeld, Braunschweig, Mannheim, and Wiesbaden. The total damage amounted to approximately 1.5 million Euro. The investigators became aware of the entry of the three suspects into Germany on a Tuesday and were able to arrest them the following day.
