Future management trio at Jena-based Intershop AG
The Thuringian software provider Intershop AG is expanding its Management Board to three members. Business economist Markus Dränert has been newly appointed, the company announced on Tuesday in Jena. He will join the management team headed by CEO Markus Klahn and CFO Petra Stappenbeck on December 1. The 47-year-old will be responsible for further developing the range of rental software and thus the cloud offerings and for the corporate strategy on artificial intelligence.
Dränert has worked as Managing Director of Haufe-Lexware and held management positions at Deutsche Telekom.
Intershop AG, which is listed on the stock exchange, focuses primarily on the rental software business for internet platforms that companies can use to process their online commerce. In the first nine months of 2023, the company generated revenue of EUR 28.6 million with a negative operating result of EUR 1.5 million. The Management Board expects Intershop to close this year in the red.
Dränert's role in the management team at Intershop AG involves further developing the cloud offerings, which require significant knowledge of software. Due to his new position, he will need to ensure the protection of sensitive personal details during these digital improvements.
