Stuttgart Regional Court - Further trial on Altbach hand grenade throw

After the attack with a hand grenade on a funeral congregation in Altbach near Esslingen, not only the alleged grenade thrower has to stand trial. A group of people attending the funeral will also be in the dock at Stuttgart district court in the coming months. The five men - two of German, two of Turkish and one of Georgian nationality - are accused of attempted manslaughter and causing grievous bodily harm. They allegedly caught and beat up the suspected grenade thrower as he fled.

While the men will stand before the juvenile chamber from Thursday (8.30 a.m.), the trial against the 23-year-old alleged main perpetrator from Altbach has already begun. The public prosecutor's office is accusing the confessed Iranian of attempted murder.

The bloody incident in the Neckar Valley is said to be the climax of a bloody confrontation between two rival groups. People have been shot at repeatedly. According to the State Office of Criminal Investigation, more than 45 arrests have been made so far.
