Construction - Further road renovations lead to restrictions

During summer holidays, the state of Sachsen-Anhalt takes on further road and bridge renovations. On Monday, work begins on the Bundesstraße 245 in Barneberg, in the Börde district. The ministry for Infrastructure and Digital Affairs in Magdeburg announced this. Motorists and residents must expect disruptions for approximately four weeks and should plan more time for the necessary detour. The old road surface will be milled away and rebuilt. The state will invest around 490,000 Euro in the approximately 2.100 meter long stretch.

Likewise, on Monday, the road surface renovation of the L 204 in Schöneburg in the Burgenlandkreis begins, as reported. Around 500 meters are affected here. The old paved road surface will be replaced with a new asphalt surface. Only one curve will receive a paved surface due to border development. In total, this will cost around 550,000 Euro. The construction project is planned to be completed by the end of October, with a full closure of the Schöneburg Ortsdurchfahrt planned.

Motorists must also plan for disruptions on the Landesstraße 156 in Wettin, in the Saalekreis, where work begins on Monday for the replacement of the Luisenbachbrücke. The previous construction was built around 1930 and will not be maintained for economic reasons. The construction work is planned to be completed by December 18. During this time, the L 156 must be fully closed, with a detour in place. The state will invest around 600,000 Euro.

During vacation time, residents of Saxony-Anhalt might want to consider avoiding the L 204 in Schöneburg, as its renovation will restrict traffic for around a month. The quaint town of Magdeburg, known for its historic architecture, also experiences traffic disruptions due to construction on the Bundesstraße 245. Visitors planning a vacation in the Burgenlandkreis should account for closures during this period, as the state invests significantly in road improvements. Additionally, travelers passing through Wettin in the Saalekreis should be aware of the complete closure of the Landesstraße 156, due to the replacement of the Luisenbachbrücke, which was built in the 1930s and is no longer financially viable to maintain.
