Fürth coach warns of "tough task" against Düsseldorf
After a "pretty tough week", coach Alexander Zorniger wants SpVgg Greuther Fürth to have a successful home game in the 2nd Bundesliga against promotion candidates Fortuna Düsseldorf. "It's typical of the 2nd division that anyone can beat anyone, even more so than in the Bundesliga. But we always talk about the form of the day," said Zorniger on Friday.
Fürth had followed up a 4-0 win in the 2nd division against VfL Osnabrück with a DFB Cup defeat at fourth-division side FC Homburg (1-2). They then won 2:0 at 1. FC Kaiserslautern. Zorniger therefore spoke of a tough week ahead of the next home game on Sunday (1.30pm).
He considers the opponents from Düsseldorf to be "incredibly stable" and the potential first eleven to be an "absolute top team." Fortuna have "a lot of quality", continued Zorniger and warned of a "tough task", for which full-back Marco Meyerhöfer could once again be a personnel alternative. Düsseldorf (21 points) currently have three points more than the Spielvereinigung.
SpVgg Greuther Fürth will face a formidable challenge in Bundesliga 2, with promotion candidates Fortuna Düsseldorf visiting for their next home game. Coach Alexander Zorniger recognizes the strength of Fortuna's squad, describing them as an "incredibly stable" team with an "absolute top team" potential first eleven.
