Coach Alexander Zorniger acknowledged that, under certain circumstances, Lower-tier teams might consider Fürth as a feasible opponent to challenge. Nevertheless, he emphasized, "We don't wish for those circumstances to occur." Having experienced four consecutive first-round eliminations in the past six years, the Franconians are determined to avoid another bitter defeat.

On the other hand, Ingolstadt, playing as underdogs, hosts 1. FC Kaiserslautern in the 15:30 CET match (Sky). Kaiserslautern displayed an incredible rally to reach the final the previous season.
