European Championship National Squad - Füllkrug joins the DFB squad early on - Ter Stegen also in Franconia
Niclas Füllkrug touched down in Herzogenaurach early for the German national football team. Having played for Borussia Dortmund, he joined his teammates on Monday following their defeat in the Champions League finals against Real Madrid. The 31-year-old player additionally joined them at their last test match against Ukraine on Monday night, reports the DFB.
In stark contrast, both Champions League triumphants Toni Kroos and Antonio Rüdiger, along with Füllkrug's teammate at BVB, Nico Schlotterbeck, are scheduled to arrive on Tuesday in Herzogenaurach.
The German national football team also has its goalkeeping team complete, with Marc-André ter Stegen of FC Barcelona joining them Monday as the fourth goalkeeper. Ter Stegen had been granted some extra time off by national coach Julian Nagelsmann after a demanding season, which saw him miss out on a vacation following a back surgery during the winter. Prior to this, he had no time off.
