UEFA Euro Championships - Full squad snapshot during Scotland training session preparation.
At the team photo session, Emre Can showed up shortly after being reselected for the European Championship. The Captain of Borussia Dortmund stepped in for the injured Bayern Munich's young player, Aleksandar Pavlovic, who won't be participating in the tournament due to an infection. He will also don Pavlovic's number 25 jersey. On the photo, Can was seated in the second row alongside his teammate from BVB, Nico Schlotterbeck.
The last practice session for the opening game on Friday (9:00 PM/ZDF and MagentaTV) against Scotland took place at the EM training camp in Franconia before the team made their way to the match venue in Munich. All 26 players attended the practice session. National coach Julian Nagelsmann can now decide on his starting lineup for the first group match.
"Finding a strong start to the tournament will give us an edge," stated Ilkay Gündogan, who at 33 years old is set to lead the German team for the first time in a tournament as the captain. "If we manage to have a good beginning, the fans will also be more supportive and help push us further."
