- Full motorways for the end of the holidays in Lower Saxony and Bremen
On the eve of the start of school in Lower Saxony and Bremen, the return traffic caused many traffic jams on the southern-bound motorways. On the A7, cars heading towards Hannover were backed up for eleven kilometers between the Bad Fallingbostel and Berkhof junctions. Further north, there was also a ten-kilometer backup in the same direction between the Schneverdingen and Soltau-Süd junctions, according to the ADAC.
On the A1 towards Osnabrück, drivers had to exercise a lot of patience as traffic was backed up for seven kilometers between the Vechta and Neuenkirchen/Voerde junctions.
Students in Lower Saxony and Bremen will be returning to school on Monday. The ADAC had already warned earlier about the heavy traffic on the motorways.
The A7 traffic towards The Hanover was also affected, with a six-kilometer backup observed between the Waage and Bad Fallingbostel junctions. Despite the heavy traffic, students in The Hanover area were still expected to report to school on Monday.
