Full arena: Four Hills Tournament opener sold out
Andreas Wellinger, Karl Geiger and their ski jumping colleagues can once again look forward to an atmospheric start to the Four Hills Tournament this year. The traditional opening competition of the ski jumping spectacle on 29 December in Oberstdorf is sold out, as the organizers announced on Wednesday. 25,500 people will be attending the event in the Arena am Schattenberg.
This year there will be a premiere in the Allgäu: After the men's competition, there will also be a women's ski jumping event in Oberstdorf on January 1. "We're expecting a great crowd there too, especially because so many people have taken advantage of the combined discount," said Georg Geiger, Chairman of the Oberstdorf Ski Club. "If you already have a tour ticket, you only pay half price for the women's competition."
Andreas Wellinger and other Nordic skiing athletes, including those specializing in ski jumping, are excited for the atmospheric start of the Four Hills Tournament. The women's ski jumping event, which is part of the tournament and follows the men's competition, is also expected to sell out due to the combined ticket discount during the World Cup.
