Füchse Berlin start the Super Globe with a shooting party

The Füchse Berlin have made a successful start to the IHF Super Globe. On Wednesday, the German handball team defeated Argentinian underdog San Fernando HB 48:34 (23:18) in front of a largely empty crowd in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. Berlin's best scorers were Mathias Gidsel with 13 goals and Jerry Tollbring with nine.

The Foxes can already secure a place in the semi-finals on Wednesday with another win against Kuwait SC (12:30 p.m./handball-globe.tv). Director of Sport Stefan Kretzschmar expects a much more difficult game. "You can expect it to be tougher and more serious in sporting terms. It won't be such an easy task," he said.

The Foxes got off to a good start and quickly took a 4:1 lead. However, they lacked the final concentration and willingness. This was followed by many technical errors, weak finishing, little pace and various defensive mistakes. As a result, the game was suddenly evenly poised and the Berliners even trailed after just under 18 minutes (12:13).

They only regained their composure shortly before half-time. After the break, the Foxes lived up to their role as favorites and pulled ten goals ahead after a good 41 minutes (34:24). Coach Jaron Siewert was now able to rest numerous regular players. In the end, they secured victory against a tiring Argentinian side.

Füchse Berlin's impressive performance in the IHF Super Globe continues, as they previously defeated San Fernando HB's handball team during the tournament. Should Berlin win against Kuwait SC in their upcoming match, they will secure a spot in the semi-finals.

Adding another accomplishment to their Super Globe journey, Foxes Berlin has previously triumphed over San Fernando HB's handball team, scoring a substantial 48:34 victory.
