Weather - Frosty start to Advent in Saxony
People in Saxony can expect frost and scattered fresh snow on the first weekend of Advent. According to the German Weather Service, it could be slippery on Saturday due to freezing rain and light snowfall. Freezing temperatures of between minus three and minus eight degrees will prevail until the morning hours. During the course of the day, temperatures will reach a maximum of minus one degree. Up to four centimetres of fresh snow may fall from Vogtland to Oberlausitz by the evening. Snow drifts are possible in the ridges of the Erzgebirge due to freshening winds. It may also snow occasionally at night in the Free State. Temperatures will drop to minus nine degrees.
Advent Sunday will start with clouds and snow. Clearer skies are possible from midday. It will be at most zero degrees on Sunday. In the night to Monday it will cool down further to minus nine degrees with a light wind.
