Bundesliga - Fritz criticizes Werder after 0:2 at VfB
Bremen's head of soccer Clemens Fritz criticized Werder's performance after the 0:2 (0:1) at VfB Stuttgart. "I think we lacked everything," said Bremen's head of professional soccer on Saturday evening. "There was generally very little going on today," explained the ex-professional: "It was a bad day. It was simply a weak performance from us."
Werder remained winless for the fifth game in a row in the Bundesliga, have still only picked up one point away from home this season and have only won one of their last eight games. "That was a game where I would say we were inferior in every respect," said captain Marco Friedl.
The upcoming home game next Saturday against FC Augsburg is important to avoid getting into more trouble in the fight against relegation. "We have to win that, we need a different performance from the whole team," said Friedl. Fritz also demanded: "We need a different performance against Augsburg. Otherwise it won't work against Augsburg either."
