- Fresh study hub inaugurated at Unimedizin Göttingen
A fresh research hub at the University Medicine Göttingen has been formally unveiled. According to the university medicine, investigations will be carried out at the Heart and Brain Center Göttingen (HBCG) on cardiovascular diseases and the brain, focusing on the intricate relationship between the two. The newly constructed facility was finished in January 2023, with all research teams having relocated. The center brings together two key research areas of the University Medicine Göttingen (UMG) to delve into the intricate dance between the heart and brain, leaving several queries unanswered in this field.
No equivalent facility exists elsewhere, as mentioned. The building houses eleven research groups, with scientists from UMG and the University of Göttingen, the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics and Self-Organization, and the German Primate Center, preparing to collaborate across various disciplines. The building encompasses 3,450 square meters of functional space and is equipped with 26 labs.
