Conflict in Gaza - Fresh disputes emerge at Palestinian protest
An evening police spokesman reported that the protest had more participants than expected, around 1400. The police had predicted about 1000 people would show up. The march started at Oranienplatz and headed towards Hermannplatz. Protesters could be heard chanting "Free Palestine", but they also shouted a hateful anti-Semitic phrase, "Child murderers Israel". Signs with the messages "Berlin shall burn" (Berlin soll brennen) and "Fuck you Germany" (Fick dich, Deutschland) were raised.
On Tuesday night, a Palestinian protest in Neukolln grew violent. Police witnesses said assailants pelted them with stones and bottles. Additionally, pyrotechnics were ignited, claimed the police spokesperson. About 850 people had assembled, according to police. Finally, the authorities dispersed the protest ending it at Hermannplatz junction during the night hours. The police started 19 legal actions for assault on and resistance against execution officers, for a major disturbance of the peace, for serious bodily harm, for damage to property, for defamation, and for the use of symbols of unconstitutional and terrorist organizations.

The German Press Agency reported widespread demonstrations in Neukölln, with over 1400 participants joining the Palestinian rally at Oranienplatz. This number significantly surpassed the police's initial estimation of 1000 attendees. Israel, the target of the protest, became a prominent focus as protesters shouted anti-Semitic slogans, including "Child murderers Israel."
Despite the peaceful chant of "Free Palestine," the event took a volatile turn when some protesters threw stones and bottles at the police. Pyrotechnics were also set off, leading to a confrontation between the demonstrators and the authorities. As a result, the police dispersed the rally, ending it at Hermannplatz junction in the late hours of the night.
Further legal actions were initiated against 850 individuals for various charges, including assault on and resistance against execution officers, major disturbance of the peace, serious bodily harm, property damage, defamation, and using symbols of unconstitutional and terrorist organizations.
