French authorities detain Chechen suspect for scheming Olympic attack.

A guy supposedly detained on May 22nd had intentions to "assault bystanders and law enforcement officers and perish as a martyr," claimed the ministry's announcement.

The Summer Olympics will occur from July 26th to August 11th. With numerous attacks in France in the past, the security teams are anxious.

At the end of March, France raised its alert level to its maximum. This change in status led to the assault on the Crocus City Hall concert venue in a Moscow suburb, resulting in over 140 fatalities, which the jihadist group Islamic State claimed credit for.

In Paris, several jihadist-conducted attacks have taken place, with the most severe occurring on November 13, 2015, causing 130 casualties. Additionally, there's worry regarding potential volatile incidents during the Olympic Games due to the Ukrainian war or the conflict in the Gaza Strip.
