A 39-year-old driver was hit by a freight train in Krakow am See(Rostock district) and suffered life-threatening injuries. The accident on Wednesday evening occurred at an unrestricted level crossing, said a police spokeswoman. The man had apparently disregarded the stop signal. The car was dragged several meters. The driver had to be rescued using heavy equipment. The train driver was reportedly uninjured. An estimated 80,000 euros worth of damage was caused, the police spokeswoman said.
