Freiburg's goal: A win to spend the winter in Europe
With a home win in the Europa League against Serbian club TSC Bačka Topola, SC Freiburg could secure a place in a European competition this winter. That is also the goal set by Christian Streich on Thursday evening (21:00/RTL and RTL+). It is not yet clear whether the team will continue in the Conference League or the Europa League, according to Streich. However, it is important that there is a continuation internationally at all.
It is equally important to keep the number of goals conceded as low as possible. In the two home games against SC Paderborn in the DFB Cup and in the league against Borussia Mönchengladbach, Freiburg recently conceded three goals each. It remains to be seen whether Streich will give one or two young hopefuls the opportunity to show what they can do.
