Free Carriers - Free Schools want less bureaucracy and more resources
Representatives of free schools in Thuringia are calling for better working conditions. They demand an independent school construction program funded by donors with at least 100 million Euro annually, less administrative burden, and improved digitalization. The Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft of free school trustees in Thuringia is addressing these demands to politics for the state election.
Grants for school construction are usually allocated to state school trustees, while free trustees can apply for funding. However, the Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft criticizes the limited scope of these funds.
"Good education does not come at a zero rate, and every Euro invested in educational infrastructure has a lasting effect rather than short-term salary supplements," says Marco Eberl, spokesperson for the Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft.
The new school year begins on Thursday. In total, there are around 960 schools in Thuringia, approximately 160 of which are in free trusteeship. This includes Waldorf schools and schools under the supervision of associations and other organizations. About 30,000 girls and boys attend free schools, as stated by the Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft.
- The Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft of free school trustees in Erfurt, a city in Thuringia, has expressed their concerns about the limited school construction funds for free trustees during the upcoming state election.
- The representatives of digital free schools in Thuringia believe that improved digitalization and less bureaucracy would significantly enhance the quality of education, as discussed in the ongoing state election discussions.
- Despite the bureaucratic challenges in coordinating digitalization efforts in schools, the Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft is advocating for a more comprehensive approach to digitalization in both state and free schools across Thuringia, as part of their election platform.
