Concerts on the Osterdeich - Free festival on the dyke - Breminale starts
Festival-goers can once again be carried from stage to stage along the Weser in Bremen starting this Wednesday for the Breminale. Over 120 female and male musicians are expected, as the organizers announced. Singer-Songwriter Andreas Kummert, Punkrock-Band Team Scheisse, Soul-Band Soulrender and the Indie-Pop-Duo Raum27 will rock the stages, but many musical hidden gems are also expected to provide a mood until Sunday.
The Breminale is smaller this year due to missing funding from the federal government. A large tent with a stage is missing, but there will be concerts on the other side starting from Friday. For five Euros, guests can cross the Weser with the ferry and find a retreat spot when it gets too crowded at the dike.
Instead of the falling stage, a giant Ferris wheel is turning its rounds. In addition, large and small visitors can expect a Secondhand-Sale, arts-and-crafts, yoga and dance courses, exhibitions, and numerous food and beverage stands.
For the first time, two cameras on a movable mast at the police container will be in use for video surveillance at the festival. The video surveillance is intended to ensure safety at the festival, but raises criticism from data protection activists.
Leisure time during the Breminale involves not only enjoying music but also exploring other activities, such as attending yoga and dance courses or browsing through the Secondhand-Sale. The Festival visitors can enjoy the serene ambiance of the Easter dike, taking a break from the crowd by crossing the Weser for just five euros using the ferry. This year, the Musikfestival Breminale in Bremen, Germany, boasts a diverse lineup, featuring notable artists like Andreas Kümmert and Soul-Band Soulrender, alongside lesser-known music talents. Despite missing funding from the federal government, the festival still manages to attract a significant number of musicians, offering over 120 performances on various stages along the Weser.
