This season, the Brandenburg State Orchestra Frankfurt will make its debut at the Golden Hall of the Vienna Musikverein and perform again in the Cologne Philharmonie and at the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festspiele. Other performing venues include the Berlin Philharmonie and the Berliner Dom.
Furthermore, the musicians will accompany the children's opera at the Bayreuth Festspiele and present three world premieres. The orchestra has invited Matthias Schorn, the solo clarinetist from the Vienna Philharmonic, to serve as their "Artist in Residence" for the upcoming season.
As announced by the orchestra, this season will mark the final term of Jörg-Peter Weigle as Chief Conductor and Artistic Director. At present, they are on the hunt for a suitable replacement. The Brandenburg State Orchestra Frankfurt consists of 86 musicians and is currently the only A-orchestra in the state of Brandenburg.
