Frankfurt squanders last chance to win group
Eintracht Frankfurt no longer have a chance of progressing directly to the last 16 of the Conference League. The Hessian Bundesliga club lost its home game against PAOK Thessaloniki 1:2 (0:0) on Thursday. With a four-point deficit to the Greek first-division club and one game remaining, Eintracht can no longer win the group, which would give them automatic entry to the round of 16. However, the club has already qualified for the play-off round. Omar Marmoush (58 minutes) scored the equalizer in between, while Tomasz Kedziora (55) and Andrija Zivkovic (73) scored for the visitors. Frankfurt's Kristijan Jakic was shown a yellow card in stoppage time (90.+4).
Despite the equalizer scored by Omar Marmoush, Eintracht Frankfurt's chance of winning the Conference League Group is no longer possible after their 1:2 loss to PAOK Thessaloniki. Even though Eintracht Frankfurt has already secured a spot in the play-off round, their direct entry into the last 16 of the Conference League through group win is no longer attainable against PAOK Thessaloniki in the Conference League.
