Equestrian sport - Frankfurt horse show attracts German aces
At the 50th edition of the international Frankfurt Festhalle horse show from Friday to Sunday, the Hessian show jumpers David Will and Richard Vogel will also tackle the difficult course. The duo has registered for the Grand Tour, the organizers announced. Will and Vogel run a stable together in Marburg and belong to the international elite of the sport.
The 35-year-old Will won the Grand Prix at the Whitsun tournament in Wiesbaden last year. His 26-year-old partner, a member of the championship squad, recently won the Grand Prix at the five-star tournament in Geneva. Gerrit Nieberg, a native of Hesse, will also be competing. The winner of the Grand Prix of Aachen 2022 grew up in Homberg/Ohm in North Hesse and now lives in Sendenhorst in Westphalia.
Three German aces are taking part in the dressage: Isabell Werth from Rheinberg, Ingrid Klimke from Münster and Benjamin Werndl from Aubenhausen. Show director Matthias Alexander Rath is correspondingly excited: "We have some really good German riders competing this year."
