France election: Candidates must decide by Tuesday whether to withdraw

Coming Sunday, the seating arrangement in the National Assembly will be decided. For an absolute majority, 289 out of 577 seats are required. The Right-wing populists were leading in the first round in 297 constituencies. However, it is becoming apparent that many candidates from both the government camp and the left-green coalition New People's Front are considering not participating in the second round.

The French election's run-off is scheduled for Sunday, potentially altering the Rassemblement National's expected seat count in the National Assembly. Withdrawal of candidates from the government camp and the New People's Front could affect the party's possibility of securing an absolute majority of 289 seats. The withdrawal decisions may significantly impact the parliamentary election results on Tuesday.
